Phoenix College’s 2nd Project SEARCH site offers opportunities to young people who prefer jobs that keep them active rather than spending a lot of times at a desk. Within ISS, roles include supporting the engineering team in the upkeep of the building; working with the security team to maintain safety throughout; as well as the workplace team who are responsible for making sure everything is as it should be on ground level for the staff in the building.
Domestics – Having clean facilities is an integral part of any business. Within ISS, cleaning takes place across the whole site through cleaning communal areas, private offices and meeting spaces.
Engineering & Maintenance – With our host businesses being so large, there is plenty of demand for repairing and building things. From plumbing to air conditioning units to the smaller tasks of building tables and chairs.
Post Room – The Mail Room is vital for security of the business checking parcels and letters via the Xray machine, sending parcels to departments within the building, and for clients to collect personal items for the service desk.
Security – Employee and customer safety is essential. Within security, interns will be completing floor checks, exterior building checks and monitoring CCTV.
Workplace – Workplace help with the running of each floor within UBS/ISS, regularly checking for any health and safety concerns and reporting to the relevant Departments. Restocking Stationary, hand sanitiser and other essential items to each floor.
Vending – the vending team, maintain and clean all the vending machines and areas of the buildings floor. Restocking coffee beans and milk for all the vending machines. Checking and restocking the smart fridges.
