A Word From The Head 5.11.21

Dear parents and carers,

I hope you had a nice half-term break.

Students had a wonderful week back to college. Students seemed very happy to be back and adapted to their new routine at Phoenix College. It was a busy first week with many learning opportunities for all students. Please see some of them below.

A WORD FROM THE GARDEN
Have you seen our new Garden Shop yet? We are open to the public during the day and you can find a great variety of plants for your house and garden at Phoenix.

Students have been enjoying their Horticulture course very much! With the winter approaching, it is important that students are wearing the right clothes when working outside. Ash Brown, our Horticulture Instructor, asked for students to always come in on Wednesdays with warm clothes – especially warm gloves and socks.

THIS WEEK
All class groups started a new unit on religion and culture during our Politics and Culture course. P1’s teacher, Niketa, explored religions around the world and students enjoyed dressing up. P3 students had a fantastic trip to The British Museum and students were mesmerized by the mummies!

P2 students also were out and about this week but a major highlight was how independent students are performing during their Catering lessons.
