A Word From The Head 17.12.21

Dear parents and carers,

As we finish the first term of this academic year, I invite you to celebrate all great achievements from our fantastic students. Please enjoy some incredible photos for this week!

This week was a great summary of the term: students used all the skills that they have learnt and applied them in their lessons and during our Christmas Lunch and Winter Fayre. Students had a lot of fun as well and when they left the College building yesterday, they all had smiles on their faces.

We could not be prouder of their achievements and their speeches at the end of the day were inspiring, making all the hard work that staff has done this term worth it.

Thank you once again for all your support – we could not do our jobs without close collaboration with you and your families. I wish you a fantastic festive season and I look forward to seeing you again in the new year.

FREEDOM PASS

A gentle reminder that all students should have their Freedom Passes ready for the beginning of the term.

Students will need to have their Freedom Passes to attend College trips.

If you have any questions about the application process for Freedom Passes, please do not hesitate to contact us.

STAY UP LATE – TWILIGHT FOR STUDENTS UNTIL 7pm

Last week we end our consultation for the Stay Up Late days for students at Phoenix College.

All parents that participated in the Parents Forum for this term expressed that they would like to see students taking part in these events. We have decided to keep the original timetable with 4 twilights for staff and 3 of those will be converted into Stay Up Late events for students.

I received confirmation from Tower Hamlets that transport will be supporting these events! Please save the date: Stay Up Late for students on the 17th January. We will share more information about his with you in the new year.

PROFILE PHOTOS

Our multi-talented TA, Frank, took some amazing photos this week! We had a lot to register with the end of term events.
Frank also accepted the challenge to update the profile pictures for our students and staff. The result was so wonderful that I decided to share them with you. Frank made beautiful photos but also captured our student’s personalities really well. Thank you, Frank!

COLLEGE CHRISTMAS LUNCH
Students worked really hard preparing our traditional Christmas Lunch!

WINTER FAYRE
Thank you to all parents that joined us! We could not invite our whole community for the Winter Fayre but we managed to sell £200 in Enterprise products!
